Dr. Smita Sirohi, an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi is presently leading the G20 Agriculture Working Group as Joint Secretary (G20) in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Prior to this assignment she has served as Adviser (Agri. & Marine Products) to Government of India, based in Embassy of India \for Belgium, Luxembourg and EU, Brussels. She has a long standing experience in the field of agricultural economics as Agricultural Research Scientist serving in various ICAR Institutes. Before her deputation for assignments outside the ICAR, she was Head of Department, Dairy Economics, Statistics & Management at National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal. Dr. Sirohi has been a member of several policymaking and expert committees of national importance in the field of agriculture and dairy. She has to her credit over 100 publications in reputed Journals, 4 books, several contributions in policy documents, large number of book chapters, popular articles, review papers, etc. and has made numerous academic presentations at various fora in and outside India.
