Recognized as a trailblazer, he has transformed the cardamom industry by building India's most prestigious brand of Green Cardamom. After graduating from the esteemed Indian Institute of Management, he entered the cardamom industry in 1993. He is the third generation to lead the family business that has combined industry experience of over 80 years. He has transformed the consumer's involvement in this category by standardising and colour sorting the various cardamom grades, which have come to be accepted as the norm by the industry. Mr. Ruparel is also the pioneer in introducing various packaging innovations to boost value addition in the cardamom industry. He was the first to introduce the innovative Aroma-Lock packaging to preserve cardamom's most important attribute, its aroma. Mr. Ruparel's contributions played a pivotal role in reshaping the industry landscape, transforming cardamom from commodity-based exports to exports in the branded form.
