The 13 th edition of World Spice Congress started off with flying colours with the inauguration
of the exhibition on 27 th February 2016 at the Gujarat University Convention and Exhibition
Centre in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Smt. Rita Teotia IAS, Secretary to the Govt of India,
Department of Commerce inaugurated exhibition. Shri. G R Aloria IAS, Chief Secretary to
the Govt of Gujarat presided over the function. The exhibition was characterised by 111
stalls and 97 exhibitors including four exhibitors from overseas. The exhibition showcased
the diverse strength and capabilities of the spice industry.
The World Spice Congress 2016 was inaugurated by Shri Babubhai Bokhiria, Minister for
Agriculture, Water Resources, Co-operation, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Cow
Breeding for the state of Gujarat on 28 th February 2016 at the Gujarat University Convention
and Exhibition Centre in Ahmedabad. In inaugural address, the Honourable Minister assured
the support of the Govt. of Gujarat for developing the seed spice sector in the State.
 
The Business Sessions of World Spice Congress 2016 were diverse and dynamic; the
following discussions were held during the business sessions :
